Andrew Marton

Andrew Marton

Piano

Marton’s instrumental repertoire celebrates the great melodies, and jazz-flavored improvisations of the 1960s-1980s.
Andrew Marton has been performing popular music, either as a solo artist, or as part of numerous bands and ensembles, for 40 years. Growing up outside of Washington, D.C., and a classically trained pianist, Marton’s first solo piano-based gig was at the prestigious Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. Marton then went on to play at several well-known bars, restaurants, and private events while living in New York City from 1980-1989. Upon returning to his native Washington, D.C., Marton would not only continue his solo concerts, but add a string of classic rock, r & b, blues, and soul, bands to his resume. In all those bands, Marton contributed a wide variety of keyboard and vocals styles. Not long after arriving in Fort Worth, Texas in 1999, Marton continued his musical development by playing piano and other keyboards in the contemporary jazz ensemble, Rhythm & Booze, before singing and playing in a series of other classic rock and blues bands including Me & Pooch, Madhatter Mood, the Vintage Vibes, the Traditional Blues Band, and – over the last four years – as the principal keyboard player, rhythm guitarist, and a lead singer in Monkey Love. As a solo artist, Marton has performed at numerous private and corporate-sponsored events in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and was one of several featured pianists at Lili’s Bistro in Fort Worth.
